When he couldn’t get out of his contract with warner he changed his name to the symbol.

Now to understand how it messed with them every legal document for court would require his legal name written multiple times and the computers and typewriters of that time couldn’t make that symbol.
So for every document someone would have to go through and hand draw it, plus any changes to a legal document needed to be notarized and any missed part and the document would need to be redone.
Great way to piss off the people who pissed him off.
